Sports and competition lead to achievement and awards which the Recreation Department sponsored in many of its activities. Whether winning a medal or trophy for a physical activity like the Somerville Road Race or Special Olympics or for an arts and crafts project created at a Summertime Playground, achievements have been an exciting and celebrated aspect of Recreation Department activities.
